Eric Carle

The world has lost yet another brilliant artist. Eric Carle passed away at the age of 91. Carle's art was very influential to me, his use of color and texture shaped my young mind and is one of the reasons I work so heavily in bright/rainbow patterns. Today seemed like a fitting day to do a tribute in the library.

Read in Color

May 20th celebrates Emancipation in Florida. Read up at www.20thofmay.com ! This historic day seemed like the perfect occasion to mark our library's pledge to  Read in Color .  Sharing books by BIPOC has always been a goal of our Little Free Library , but by pledging to Read In Color we hope to expand our own horizons in reading materials as well.
